First Drop
How to play ROS Legacy

Drop modes
One drop, one survivor. Pure skill, zero backup. You get no revive and no second set of eyes, so third-party fights end you unless you leave. Pick Solo to learn loot without blame, and treat it as the practice queue when your friends are still installing the ZIP. Ranked Seasons sit on top of this queue as a resetting ladder with cosmetics, not as a fourth mode button. Queue what the live Solo, Duo, or Squad strip shows today in this Open Beta.
Pair up and cover each other through every fight. A downed partner is still a revive if you hold the door. Use Duo to learn trades before you jump into a full squad. If your friends are on Android and you are on PC, you will not sit in the same match: shared progress is not shared fights. Form the pair on one client. The live site names Duo as a cover-each-other queue, not a cross-play lobby.
Teams built for full tactical control. More pings, more revives, and more chances to waste a rotation arguing about a ridge. Queue Squad when you already have three people in Discord. The archived brief split a four-player squad into Vanguard, Scout, and Anchor; the live homepage talks about squad tactics without reprinting those job names, so they are brief language, not a guaranteed class screen. Play the jobs anyway: one person pushes, one watches rotations, one holds the revive.
Archived brief
Archived combat zones
Broken steel, dense cover, and dangerous sightlines. Jungle wreckage still covers even if the live map no longer prints the name. Land on a building cluster, grab armor before a sniper you cannot feed, and leave when footsteps stack. The archived brief listed this as the first of seven combat zones; verify in-game whether the current build still labels the POI.
Tight alleys reward fast reactions and close-range loadouts. Urban warfare punishes slow rotates and long-range rifles you cannot swing around a corner. Treat this as archived orientation from the official brief, not proof that a current patch still paints the name on the minimap.
A shattered city where every open crossing is a risk. Ice and rubble punish greed. Rotate early if the next circle strands you on an exposed street. Frozen ruins still play like frozen ruins even when the live homepage does not reprint the name.
Long-range encounters across exposed elevated ground. Hold a ridge only if the next safe already covers you. Open terrain is a sniper job and a rotation tax; leave when the storm will pin the other squad anyway.
Low cover, rooftop angles, and brutal rotations. Desert settlement play is about when you leave, not how much you loot. If a POI is unlabeled in the live build, fight the terrain anyway: desert still exposes.
Industrial lanes built for ambushes and squad pushes. Close quarters favor SMGs, shotguns, and a Vanguard who actually walks through the door. Anchor the revive in a side room, not in the lane.
Control the waterline before the circle forces contact. Desert combat around water is a hold-or-die job. Memorize the seven archived names as terrain jobs, then verify in-game whether the live map still prints them.
Squad jobs
Vanguard
Break the line
Lead the breach, force the fight, and create the opening the squad needs. You can play this job without a class screen. One person pushes. Do not install overlays that promise a radar; anti-cheat is listed as advanced on the live site and Aegis on the archived page, and you cannot toggle it off.
Scout
Own the intel
Read rotations, mark threats, and keep the team ahead of the circle. Own the intel even if the live loadout screen never prints the word Scout. Mark the next ridge before the storm decides the fight for you.
Anchor
Hold the ground
Lock down cover, protect the revive, and turn a bad position into a winning one. Hold the door while the other two reset. Ranked Seasons already sit in the live feature list with a leaderboard that resets, while Official Release stays undated.
Storm loop
Massive Battlegrounds
Sprawling maps for rooftop sniping and close-quarters fights. Massive Battlegrounds is the official line for maps that mix rooftop sightlines with close interiors. Land near cover, not in an open field you cannot leave before the first circle.
Deep Weapon Arsenal
Loot and customize weapons with attachments, rarities, and squad roles. Deep Weapon Arsenal is the official line for loadouts you actually find on the ground rather than buy in a store menu. Grab armor before a sniper rifle you cannot feed.
Shrinking Storm Zone
The battlefield closes in; rotate, hold, or force fights before the storm decides. Shrinking Storm Zone is the only timer the official site names. Rotate early if the next circle strands you on water or an open ridge. Hold if you already sit inside the next safe. Play that timer, not a loot greed timer you invented because a crate glowed.
Squad Tactics
Solo, duo, or squads with pings, revives, and shared loadouts. Squad Tactics on the live site means those tools in Duo and Squad; Solo is the same storm with no revive partner. Form the team on one client if you want to fight together.
Ranked Seasons
Seasonal ladder, cosmetics, and a leaderboard that resets. Ranked Seasons are already in the live feature list. None of those systems need a calendar date to start dropping. Official Release stays the next undated phase.
Advanced Anti-Cheat
A dedicated security system on every match. The former official page named the same job Aegis Anti-Cheat. You cannot toggle it off. Do not install overlays that promise a radar or a silent TestFlight. Play the live ZIP or APK on the official hosts.
